The Greatest (janvier 2006) est le septième album de Cat Power, malgré son titre qui pourrait tromper. Loin d'être un best-of, cet opus expose la voix éthérée et envoûtante de Chan Marshall, oscillant entre rock indépendant brut et soul profonde. Un album où l'intimité devient universelle, où chaque note respire l'authenticité d'une artiste refusant les raccourcis.
